»weekend workshop

Saturday, February 22, 2014
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Nalanda Events Center
6287 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, CO

Led by Amishi Jha and Naropa faculty Jane Carpenter, this dynamic workshop weaves current scientific research on mindfulness with experiential practice and rich interactive discussion. We'll discuss brain imaging techniques that reveal how mindfulness meditation may alter foundational brain networks, and engage in simple meditative practices that introduce us first-hand to the power of attention and mindfulness. By gently resting and expanding our awareness in the present moment, we can infuse our lives, relationships, and work with greater clarity and wellness. All are welcome.

Amishi Jha, PhD, associate professor of psychology at the University of Miami, is an award-winning and widely published researcher and director of contemplative neuroscience for the Mindfulness Research and Practice Initiative.

Jane Carpenter, associate professor of contemplative psychology, has taught meditation and contemplative practices at Naropa University and internationally for more than twenty-five years.
